THE TEXAS LOVE TRIANGLE: A TOMMY BOY PRODUCTION

This post is oddly relevant given my recent musings on what it means to be a "DJ." Local DJ, blogger and video artist TOMMY BOY was approached by VICE to create a mix, and TEXAS LOVE TRIANGLE is nothing short of brilliant (I haven't even heard it yet, but my friend Tommy is a genius, so there's no doubting the quality of his work). He wrote a very heartfelt description of the project, which ended as thus:

"There is something sacred in the geometry connecting Houston, Austin, and Dallas - this love triangle that we’re all a part of. This mix is a testament to what friends and neighbours are capable of and it’s a fitting time capsule for this time and place. Don’t Mess with Texas."

Aw ... so true. If you're not yet familiar with Tommy Boy's art, I suggest you head over to his blog ARAWA.FM. He's created visuals for some of the coolest acts around ( CFCF and Telepathe come to mind), and he also happens to be one of the most genuine and amiable people I've ever met on the Dallas scene. Be sure to catch his club night VIDEO REHAB every Wednesday at Tradewinds Social Club in Oak Cliff.
