DAILY AFFIRMATION

These ridiculously awesome sunglasses from the ridiculously awesome Ann-Sophie Back.
They're $285 at Opening Ceremony.

STOP THE PRESS!

There is a rumor that Lady Gaga has designed a capsule collection for the house of McQueen ...

Not sure how I feel about this. Lady Gaga for McQueen is set to debut Spring 2011.

PEACHES' ONE WOMAN SHOW

I thought this was interesting ... electro-superstar Peaches has been performing the 1971 "rock opera" Jesus Christ Superstar as a one-woman production in Berlin. Reviews have been great, and it's nice to see someone as talented as she is stretch herself artistically when so many hip musicians tend to dilute their creativity once mainstream success comes knocking ... here's a short interview and footage from the show:

LADY GAGA COPIES KELIS?!

via FashionIndie

R&B has-been Kelis has come under fire for apparently apeing Lady Gaga's signature personal style, but this article claims that the real copycat is Gaga!

Behold the shocking photographic evidence du scandale:

INTERVIEW: HENRY HOLLAND

Henry Holland has a dubious claim to the title of fashion "designer," as his creative efforts have been critically panned in recent years. His career began on a high note, however; his cheeky, rhyming "shout-out" tees gained him worldwide celebrity (I bought the "Cause Me Pain Hedi Slimane" shirt, directly from Mr. Holland himself, who kindly sent me a personal "thank you" via Blackberry). At any rate, Holland's status is on the rise again following his inclusion to the Designers at Debenhams range, where he will design a collection under the H! by Henry Holland label. Read this interview to hear the 26 year-old's take on success, his relationship with bff/model Agyness Deyn and his experience in the fashion industry.

LOL: TOP TEN FAVORITE FASHION PERVS

via FashionIndie

Click here to read FashionIndie.com's (scarily accurate) list of their "Top Ten Favorite Fashion Pervs (NSFW)."

Fellow blogger (and style icon) Jane Aldridge's reaction to her #9 position on the list:

"I made FASHION'S TOP TEN PERVERTS list. I am the ninth biggest pervert in fashion. I beat Lady Gaga y'all. Leeland forever, 70s porn forever! Should I have a pervert party to celebrate?"
Yes, Jane. You should throw a pervert party (don't forget to invite me, though! lol).

JE T'AIME: JENNIFER HERREMA

Jennifer Herrema is a vocalist in a band called RTX (formally Royal Trux). Her personal style is equal parts '90's grunge, '80's metal and '70's AM radio; think stars and stripes, shredded denim, bandannas, Fleetwood Mac furs. Combined with a fierce set of bangs and a voice that sounds like a trapped animal howling for another pack of smokes, Herrema and her band are the go-to guys when you feel like your iPod is lacking a little "edge:"

SKINNER TALKS

Now Skinner (a.k.a. Stefanie) is giving interviews! My second favorite "Kell on Earth" reality-show character next to <3<3 Andrew Mukamal <3<3 ...

LADY GAGA + LINDA FARROW

In an unsurprising career move, Lady Gaga is apparently collaborating with Linda Farrow on a line of sunglasses. Assuming they're good (as most Farrow projects tend to be), would you buy a pair?

FEELING WITHOUT TOUCHING

When he's not being super hot, Johnny Jewel is also one half of one of my favorite bands Glass Candy.

Check out this just-released video for their single "Feeling Without Touching:"

I asked Ida No where she got her dance moves from once, and she told me that, aside from taking ballet classes, she's also learning "traditonal African tribal dancing from watching videos."

WITH LOVE, LINDSAY

She wants you to know that she is not designing handbags for Ed Hardy.

JE T'AIME: JON KORTAJARENA

My favorite male model Jon Kortajarena is Karl Lagerfeld's pick for the designer's F/W lookbook ... so hot.

CHLOE SEVIGNY DOES RUSSIAN BAZAAR

JE T'AIME: ANDREW MUKAMAL

Yes, Andrew is very wealthy. He has his very own (Versace, ahem) throne to prove it.

If you watch Kell on Earth, then you know that the real breakout star of the fashion-PR reality show is Kelly Cutrone's assistant Andrew Mukamal. He's my new obsession, and your's too! Check out his Stylelikeu.com profile.

RÊVES MECANIQUES

I thought that I'd reveal the inspiration behind my blog name: the Hacker

CANDIDS: LINDSAY LOHAN IN PARIS

My favorite tabloid fixture Lindsay Lohan has been M.I.A. lately, most likely due to the embarrassment of being fired by Ungaro after her heinous attempt at "designing" clothes for the label. This is our Lilo arriving at the Kenzo show in Paris earlier this month, and I'm loving the color of the fur she chose to wear as well as the shoes (which are Topshop Unique)!

Lohan sat front-row at the Viktor & Rolf show, after being denied entrance to Dior for being late. The shoes and bag are both Christian Dior, and the shades are Tom Ford.

And one for the road:

From Purple Magazine #13, Lindsay shows us her underwear as she reaches into an Alexander Wang duffel bag.

HOLE REFORMED, REFOCUSED AT SXSW

FARAH - "GAY BOY"

I've known the girl behind the legendary Italians Do It Better Records singles ("Law of Life," used in a Christopher Kane runway show) for many years. Her name is FARAH. She is a complex individual, her vocal prowess intense and her lyrical genius profound ... yet she also enjoys watching Twilight, taking care of her cat Bebe and redecorating her apartment every other day. I first met Farah long before she caught the ear of Glass Candy's mega-hot producer Johnny Jewel, when she was still writing songs on a tone-deaf Casio and rocking a platinum blonde Nico-style haircut. She cancelled her scheduled appearance at this year's SXSW conference because, as she told me yesterday, "... it's too dirty and I don't want to ruin my heels."

If you haven't already snagged Farah's debut EP or heard her tracks featured on the game-changing After Dark compilation, then there is no time like the present for an introduction. Her latest single "Gay Boy" is now available on vinyl at Italians Do It Better and as a digital release on iTunes.

I swore she wrote this song about me ... she would neither confirm nor deny this:

FARAH - Gay Boy (Lullaby)
Update: I will be interviewing Farah for the site this Sunday. If you have any questions for la chanteuse please submit them here or on our Facebook page!

JOHN VARVATOS HAS A MUSIC BLOG

John Varvatos, the man who opened a store on the hallowed-ground that was legendary punk club CBGB's in NYC, has a music blog. While I'm not too sure if we share a similar taste in tunes, I like it when designers share their musical preferences. Varvatos (my boyfriend's closet is full of this guy's stuff) also has a radio show called "Born in Detroit" on Sirius XM's Faction channel. Good to know!

LABRUCE VS. LAGERFELD

Vice asked queer-film auteur Bruce LaBruce to have a chat with the one and only Karl Lagerfeld. As always, Mr. Lagerfeld is candid as can be ... read the interview here.

Karl is one of the smartest people alive and we're lucky to still see him in action after so many years in the fashion industry. He also has the sharpest tongue on earth.

JE T'AIME: JEAN-CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC

With all the bustle surrounding Lady Gaga's video collaboration with Beyonce for "Telephone," I imagine that people might easily forget the fact that Gaga doesn't necessarily always wear her own designs (under the Haus of Gaga moniker). Gaga has publicly expressed her love for Thierry Mugler, Giorgio Armani and Alexander McQueen, in addition to turning up for a Barbara Walters interview in a gorgeous, hot-off-the-runway Chanel suit (couture, no less). Her high-profile professional coupling with super-stylist Nicola Formichetti also means she is basically the highest-priority client  for fashion houses hoping to achieve that ever-elusive "household name" status.

Gaga and Beyonce are rocking (a lot of) Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in the aforementioned video. I've always adored JC de Castelbajac's irreverent creations, as he is in the vein of other pop-culture obsessed designers like Jeremy Scott and, before him, Franco Moschino. I thought I'd post some of my favorite looks from the house of Castelbajac:

THE FASHION BEHIND "TELEPHONE"

Custom-made dress: Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

Nicola Formichetti, the man behind Lady Gaga's headline-making fashions, has revealed the secrets to the pop-singer's style in her "Telephone" video. Visit Formichetti's blog for a full list of fashon credits.

SORRY I CANNOT HEAR U I'M KINDA BUSY

Lady Gaga will release her music video for "Telephone" tomorrow ... here are two stills from the shoot:

I love how she's channeling old-school Madonna in the first look!

In case you're bored, here's an interview with Gaga from T, the New York Times Magazine.
