RICK OWENS MAKES FURNITURE

So cool ... it's cruel.

LINDSAY DEFENDS RACY PHOTO SHOOT

You know, the one where she's dazed, glazed and holding a gun to her mouth?

She took to her Twitter page: “It’s not soft core porn hunny, it’s called ART.”

OK ... whatever you say, girl.

Bloated Lohan-with-a-gun wishes all you "hunnys" out there a fabulous day! Dont't forget your garter belt and fake blood on the way out the door!

I'm pretty much dying for that lightning-bolt bodysuit she's wearing in the first pic ... anyone know who made it? It looks like Ksubi.

LINDSAY, IS THAT YOU?

These are the ten most powerful luxury brands in the world, according to Millward Brown Optimor (an advertising conglomerate). Visit the link above for more info:

3. Gucci

Interesting stuff ... especially considering that only Louis Vuitton and Hermès reported fiscal gains for the year 2009.

DAILY AFFIRMATION

Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte.

YES! IT'S HOLE!

So the long-awaited Courtney Love album Nobody's Daughter (that became the fourth Hole LP) has leaked ... you can hear all but one track here.
Pitchfork gave it a so-so rating. I haven't heard it yet, but as a rabid fan of '90's-era Hole, I have to concede that it would be a miracle if Love reclaimed the glory of her days as reigning Grunge Queen. The lady has lived through this, that and the other during the last twenty years (all very publicly, mind you) and I feel that she may have fallen a bit too hard down that Hollywood-rabbit hole. She lost that priceless sense of humor, that "fuck-em-all" attitude that gave her guttural wailings a certain depth and spirit that set her apart from the countless copycat bands that sprouted in her wake in the mid-1990's. At any rate, I'll be watching Courtney and wish her new "Hole" all the best.

P.S. I love how she brought back the Barbie font! And the painting of Marie Antionette that she used in the liner notes of My Body, the Hand Grenade. So awesome!

M.I.A. RELEASES NEW MUSIC VIDEO

The voice of a generation M.I.A. released a new music video today, presumably from her forthcoming and third full-length album due sometime this summer. She also took over Pitchfork.com's Twitter account to celebrate. See the NSFW, graphically violent video for "Born Free" below:

The song reminds me a bit of "Sabotage"-era Beastie Boys, if the Beasties were cool enough to sample Suicide's "Ghost Rider:"

NAOMI STRIKES AGAIN OVER BLOOD DIAMOND INQUIRY

Naomi Campbell never backs out of a fight, and a question from a TV reporter regarding a gift from Liberian president Charles Taylor sent her over the edge (again). Taylor stands accused of war crimes against humanity involving "blood diamonds," or uncut stones retrieved from war-torn areas of Africa where people are frequently mutilated, killed or tortured by mob-style kingpins bent on cashing in on black market gems. See the video below:

Seems like Ms. Campbell needs another reality-check (a.k.a. "meet your new orange jumpsuit!").

COBRASNAKE DOES JEREMY SCOTT'S COACHELLA TOGA PARTY

Har Mar Superstar gets cheeky with Beth Ditto.

Remember when all you wanted to do was be photographed by Mark "the Cobrasnake" and have your picture broadcast all over the world? Well, those days are behind us, thankfully. The infamous party snapper was at Coachella last weekend for Jeremy Scott's Toga Party, and the resulting photos are shiver-inducing (and not in the good way). I'm glad to have outgrown this hipster bullshit way before it's expiration date, which was approximately 2006 (unlike Johnny Makeup; I don't recommend clicking that link if you've just had breakfast).
That isn't to say I'm not guilty of hipsterish hooligan-ery; I was at a Justice after-party once (it was actually a "green room party") and Mr. Cobrasnake was there taking pictures. Someone asked me and my friend for a photo, and just as we were posed, poised and ready, Cobrasnake suddenly had to pee or something, dashing my dreams of instant internet celebrity forever. Oh well, I learned a valuable lesson: it's actually better to be known for something other than looking fabulous and getting stupid drunk with famous people!

"ANDREW WENT TO THE RODARTE SALE TODAY!"

Kelly Cutrone has her own YouTube channel and Andreamy makes an appearance in episode one!

Andrew, baby, I'm gonna let you leave those shades on ... just this once (since they're Margiela).

VERSACE HOME COLLECTION

My favorite Versace wares have always been home furnishings (the ridiculously overpriced china, the tea sets, Andrew Mukamal's throne), and the latest from Versace doesn't disappoint. The new home collection debuted during Milan design week, and I'm loving the table (shown above). It's very Dan Flavin meets Miami, n'est-ce pas?

The overall collection is decidedly feminine in tone, and I'm not sure about the blown-glass drinking vessels in the last photo, but that wouldn't stop me from allowing Versace to bomb my apartment with everything they've got!

WARHOL: THE LAST DECADE

I had the privilege of seeing Andy Warhol: The Last Decade at the Modern in Fort Worth today, and it was unreal. The exhibit itself is very well-curated and expansive, with works ranging from his creepy Myths series to his provocative collaborations with Jean-Michel Basquiat ... the visual impact and scale of his last paintings overwhelmed and unnerved me:

Self-Portrait, 1978

Marilyn, 1979. Pale pink solar on black.

There were few Marilyns to be seen in the exhibit, but the pieces they did have were stunning. A variation on his inverted Marilyns (like the one above) was haunting, as it was black acrylic over black silkscreen ink, giving the iconic headshot a macabre twist (the actual image of was only visible from a specific angle).

Dracula, from Myths, 1981.

The Last Supper (detail),1986.

The piece above easily measures 20x40 feet ... totally massive, and engaging.

The Last Supper, 1986.

Don't miss Andy Warhol: the Last Decade, now at the Modern in Fort Worth.

DAILY AFFIRMATION

The new Crystal Castles album doesn't suck ... it's actually really, really f%*$# good.

ANDREW MUKAMAL TWEETS!

So I checked my Twitter account last night, and guess who responded to my (adolescent-sounding) ramblings? None other than my schoolboy crush Andrew Mukamal!

Andrew!!!! Can I move to New York and live in your closet?!

JE T'AIME: NICOLA KUPERUS

Nicola Kuperus, to me, is the conssumate artist, and the ultimate "underground legend." Now, I don't take words lightly, but anyone already familiar with her work (either as one half of electro-punk pioneers, and purveyors of all things uncomfortable, ADULT., co-founder of the now-defunct Detroit record label Ersatz Audio, or in her other capacity as insanely skilled visual artist) will agree with me when I repeat: Nicola Kuperus is underground legend. ADULT. in itself has proved a potent outlet for Kuperus (for the uninitiated, click here), but her photgraphy is equally powerful:

Cover art for the ADULT. single "Nausea."

Cover art for the classic ADULT. album Anxiety Always.

Nicola's work with husband and bandmate Adam Lee Miller is certainly nothing to scoff at ... aside from recording and performing some of the most intense and enduring music I've ever heard, they have collaborated on a video/multimedia project entitled "Decampment," a silent film played with live instrumentation by the band, as well as the video trilogy "The Importance of Being Folk:"

ERIN WASSON BUILDS HER OWN CLOSET

Texas girl and top model/designer Erin Wasson shows us her closet. The one she built with her own two, tiny hands. I think Wasson is a total babe, obviously; I smoked a cigarette with her once at the Goss Gallery opening in Dallas (that would be the contemporary art gallery owned by George Michael's former partner Kenny Goss) and she was sweet as pie, albeit so thin and frail looking I was afraid to shake her hand lest I break it! When Wasson isn't starring in Armani ad campaigns (or hanging out with her pal Alexander Wang) she designs clothes for RVCA under the Erin Wasson X RVCA label as well as jewelry for her Lowluv line. Our girl from Irving (!) also graced the cover of February's issue of Paper, which I definitely recommend checking out since her four-page spread is scorching, it's so hot.

MY FIRST WANG

My first Alexander Wang BAG that is, ha! It looks like a blob but it feels so damn good.
